Did you know that flexibility improves performance and helps to prevent injury? Why? Because it improves circulation by increasing blood flow to your muscles. Stretching also helps strengthen muscles and can increase or maintain range of motion. Keep in mind that our muscles shorten when they tighten up after a run or a workout. I recommend stretching before and after a workout for improved range of motion. Get into a daily routine (just five minutes) even if you skip a workout.
